Three years into this, I’ve come to really appreciate how incredible the medical teams are.
The radiologists. The oncologists. The nurses.
They focus on getting us through the physical fight—and they’re extraordinary at it.
But there’s another side to all of this. The part that doesn’t always get talked about as much.
What it’s like for us… and for the people around us. The thoughts at 3am. The fear. The uncertainty. The pressure to be “strong”.
I’ve realised the physical treatment is only part of it. The rest… we tend to carry quietly.
It made me ask myself: What are you carrying?
And if the answer feels like too much, who can you speak to?
A friend. Family. Someone who gets it. Or one of the organisations set up to support people through this.
You don’t have to carry it on your own.
